The NSW Government offers a variety of rebates to assist with payment of energy bills, as part of its Social Program for Energy. Holders of a Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card or DVA Gold Card may be eligible. Low Income Household Rebate

The NSW Low Income Household Rebate is provided to eligible concession card holders. This rebate is applied as a daily amount on your electricity bill. The exact amount of the rebate paid on each bill will depend on the number of days in that billing period.

 

NSW Gas Rebate

The NSW Gas Rebate is provided to eligible concession card holders. This rebate is applied as a daily amount on your gas bill. The exact amount of the rebate paid on each bill will depend on the number of days in that billing period.

 

Life Support Rebate

The Life Support Rebate provides a quarterly discount on electricity bills where a household member uses an eligible life support machine. For further information on qualifying machines, please visit www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-life-support-energy-rebate-retail-customers.
To apply, please download, complete and return the application form here. Application forms need to be completed and signed by your registered medical practitioner confirming your use of a life support machine.

 

Medical Energy Rebate

The Medical Energy Rebate provides eligible Low Income Household Rebate customers assistance with your bills if you or someone living with you has an inability to regulate body temperature due to specific conditions. This rebate is applied as a daily amount on your electricity bill. The exact amount of the rebate paid on each bill will depend on the number of days in that billing period. The Medical Energy Rebate is given in addition to the Low Income Household Rebate. The application form needs to be completed and signed by your Medical Practitioner confirming your medical condition.

 

Family Energy Rebate

The Family Energy Rebate helps eligible households pay their electricity bill if they have dependent children and received the Family Tax Benefit payment from the Commonwealth Department of Human Services. EAPA vouchers

If you’re having difficulty paying your current household energy bill because of a short-term financial crisis or emergency, such as unexpected medical bills, or reduced income due to COVID-19, you could be eligible for Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA) $50 vouchers. Applying for EAPA vouchers involves an eligibility assessment by a NSW Government representative or an approved non-government EAPA provider.
