Sumo understands that essential services including electricity and gas can be exploited by family violence perpetrators to harm victims. Sumo, as an energy retailer, has a role to play in providing targeted, practical assistance and support to customers affected by family violence.
Sumo’s family violence policy describes how Sumo will identify and assist affected customers.
If you are affected by family violence, please let us know when you call us. Your call will then be handled by a member of our Care team. We can help in a number of ways, including:
- we will note your account, so you don’t need to repeat yourself each time you call
- we will keep your information secure
- we can help you remove someone from your account
- you can nominate your preferred method of communication
- we will help you with payment difficulty assistance, if you need it
- we will not require you to provide documentary evidence
