Like the freeways we drive on, there are peak and off-peak periods for broadband networks. Actual NBN speeds will vary depending on several factors including the time of day you access the network, the number of users simultaneously using the network, total internet traffic, the speed of various websites, the speed of your Wi-Fi networks, your computer hardware, the performance of infrastructure not operated by Sumo and the traffic and users on your own internal network.

Sumo offers a range of NBN plans to cater for differing technology needs. Some people simply use their internet connection for email and web browsing, whilst others stream videos, watch TV or even play games online. The following plans enable you to pick what’s right for your usage and budget.

* Typical Peak Speed for residential customers is the typical expected experience between 7pm and 11pm which is the busy time for Internet traffic. It is not a guaranteed minimum speed. Maximum Off Peak Speed is the maximum speed that the majority of customers can expect during other times. The actual speed you will experience depends on a number of factors including your access type, demand on the network, local conditions such as internet traffic, your line condition, your hardware and software, the data source or destination and your location which can interfere with reception and speed.
^ The Typical Peak speed will be refreshed on a quarterly basis in accordance with ACCC guidelines. The published figure may increase or decrease over time. The published figure is not representative of future performance and should not be considered a guaranteed minimum.
Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Basement (FTTB) customers will have their speed confirmed once the service is activated and if the plan chosen can’t be supported by the line, alternative options will be provided.  The Standard Plus and Premium plans are not available to customers on nbn fixed wireless.
